I really enjoyed this book! Sort of a cross between Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum & Leslie Langtry's Merry Wrath! Violet Ingram's Kim Murphy has the moxy of those two characters with the unfortunateness (hey, I can make up words just like Kim's friend, Melissa!) of having a father who is the police chief, 4 brothers who are police officers, & the rest of the extended family in some kind of fire/paramedic/police occupation. In this outing, Kim gets herself into plenty of trouble trying to find who left a multilated dead body in her neighbors apartment. Add in multiple murders, kidnappings, & trashed buildings, & then stir in lots of humor & lots of romance from Detective Hottie, Grant Tompkins, & you have one heck of a series! My only complaint was that I felt like this was book 2 & not book 1 in this series. The author kept referring back to a man who Kim shot & killed, her being kidnapped previously, & being suspected of murder by Detective Tompkins. I would have loved to have read this story first, especially as this is where Kim & Grant meet. It bothered me that I was only getting the back plot through flashbacks. Maybe Ms Ingram will write a prequel for us???Product details

I enjoyed reading about Kim and the situations she finds herself in. She has a sharp wit and I absolutely loved the scenes with her and Grant. Very entertaining story and I look forward to reading more with Kim.
Loved it. Reminded me a lot of Stephanie Plum. Wise talking P.I., big family of cops and a lot of action and humor.
This is my first book by this author. I loved it! I liked the strong female character and of course, the family of cops that come to her rescue whether she wants them or not. Look forward to reading more of this series especially when the family discovers who Kim's boyfriend is.
She's sassy, smart, slightly naughty and funny, funny and funny!! What a great read, cannot wait to start reading the next one!!!
Kim is a PI her four brothers and a father are all cops. She likes to use their connections to help solve her cases. Kim has a tendency to find dead bodies which is why she keeps running into homicide detective Grant. Kim likes him and he likes her, but he keeps telling her to get out of his cases. This is a humorous mystery that has romance and good characters.
I enjoyed this book so much. Yes, the typical female PI but at least she wasn't an idiot. She got into jams but not ridiculous and the cast was great. It wasn't a typical Stephanie Plum with the "gun toting grandmother", hot cop vs bounty hunter. That's run its course. I am now on the 2nd in the series and I wouldn't mind a third in the series, hint to author.
I loved the feisty heroine private investigator Kimberly Murphy and her protective family who are all in the police force. Violet Ingram has created a strong female lead that gets embroiled in a suspicious murder in her next-door neighbor's house and further dead bodies begin to pile up. I love her easy sense of humor and the will they won't they romance between Kim and hot homicide detective Grant Tompkins.
